Social Animal is a digital entertainment company specializing in HD 360º interactive video. The company builds entertainment technology for creating interactive online content. Social Animal is privately held with headquarters in Hollywood, California, where it was founded in 2008 by Guy Shiffer and Jason Trucco. The pair had a vision to create interactive content that would leverage the power of the online distribution platform. In 2009, the company debuted its HD 360° Camera, the SA9, and SA360 Player. Also in 2009, Tyler Malin, a media and entertainment entrepreneur, was hired as Social Animal’s CEO.

- March 2010: Social Animal signs deal with the Ace Hotel. The Ace HD 360°video campaign goes live the following month.
- February 2010: Social Animal launches HD 360° video for Scion campaign.

- November 2009: Social Animal lands Tyler Malin as new CEO.
- October 2009: Social Animal debuts its HD 360° Video Camera System and Interactive 360° flash player.
- September 2009: Matthew Forrest and Eric Soboleski join Social Animal as new COO and Director of Production, respectively.

- SA9 Camera. Shoots cinema-quality HD 360° panoramic footage in real time with no distortion or gaps.
- SA360°Player. The flash player transforms cinema-quality footage into a fully interactive and immersive online experience. Users can steer through the video and experience the event as if they were actually there.
- SA360Touch Video. Hotspots and motion tracks in-video objects, offering audiences the ability to click on items in an online video and learn more about them.
- SA3D. Turns 2D footage into eye popping 3D that is virtually indistinguishable from original 3D footage.
