  • The leading introductory sentence begins the article off with explaining what DNA-binding proteins are. According to the article, DNA-binding proteins are binding domains that are either single or double stranded.
  • The lead includes a brief description on major grooves, minor grooves and functional groups but these topics are not presented in more detail throughout the body of the article.
  • The lead can be perceived as being over detailed due to the fact that it mentions very specific information that is not further discussed throughout the article. For example, there are five minor groove DNA-binding ligands that are mentioned in the lead and are no longer discussed after that.

  • The content of this article is relevant to the topic because it mentions the different DNA-binding protein revisions. The article explains non-specific DNA-protein interactions, single-stranded DNA binding, particular DNA sequences being bonded, and numerous examples given.
  • There is a possibility that this article is not up to date due to the fact that last revision was in July of 2016.
  • From my knowledge, the content present in this article does not seem to miss any significant information regarding the binding of DNA protien nor does there need to be any added information.

  • This article is well written and has a good structure by using bold headings and broken sections for each new topic discussed.
  • To my knowledge, there are no grammatical or spelling errors that can be seen in the article.

Images and Media

  • This article includes multiple pictures that represent the binding of DNA proteins to different structure and includes secondary resources in the captions of each picture that go more in depth on the given topic.
  • Due to these citations and explanations given under each picture, one can conclude that the images do adhere to Wikipedia's copyright regulations.

Checking the talk page

  • There was only one fellow wikipedian who commented in the talk page and it was in regards to a modified external link on DNA-binding proteins.
  • I can not find an exact rating on this article and no it is not apart of the WikiProject
  • Wikipedia is able to write out very specific information and therefore I think they are able to go more in depth with certain topics , whereas in class we must stay focused on the larger overview picture of things.

Overall impressions

Overall the article contains good information with a lot of sources and diagrams, it does a good job of staying focused on its topic and expoing them in depth. I think edits can be made in the introduction, seeing as that certain stuff is mentioned that is not further discussed upon. Due to all of this I would say that the article is underdeveloped in regards to the introduction but well-developed in regards to the actual content.
