About me

[edit]

I'm a student who lives in west of United States. I'm a fitness enthusiast, and am interested in nutritional knowledge. I like to learn how nutritional supplements channelize your body muscles to growth. My hobbies include staying fit, sneaker collecting. “It’s never been easier to access sneakers, so the focus for many is less on the hunt and more on the purpose and meaning behind a purchase,” he said. “They’re increasingly buying into craftsmanship, innovation, the creators and the substance behind designs. Sneakers aren’t the trend, they are the medium.”[1]

My Wikipedia Interests

[edit]

I learnt about Wikipedia in my class and creating a user page is my assignment. I found Wikipedia very interesting and I'm looking forward to making some changes to pages related to my interests like fitness and sneakers. I'm interested in creating some pages related to sneakers throwing a light on sneaker as a business, sneaker trade or sneaker stock market which is yet to be covered as a page on Wikipedia.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

As My Bio talks about my interest related to sneakers and sneaker collecting. I am interested in sneakers from past two years and I want to create some pages about the market of sneaker business, sneaker trade or stock market which is growing wildly from past few years. I want that pages like sneakers and sneaker collecting should display useful information. I visited the sneakers and sneaker collecting article on Wikipedia, and found three aspects of it worth commenting on: lack of citations, page information update, clarification needed or some information left out.

Citations

[edit]

There are citations on these pages but at some areas citations are needed with the information. In the sneakers page it talks about the history of sneakers but there's no citations to validate the statement. The page could have had some more citations when talking about history especially with certain statements like 'The first basketball shoes were designed in 1907" without citations its hard to trust the history related statements. The page could use some more reliable sources to trust on.

Page Information update

[edit]

Talking about the industry growth and reselling in the sneaker collecting page the data about Stock X is not of the ongoing year. The data talks about years 2020-21 and there are some estimations of the company reaching $30 billion by 2030 without any validate or reliable source. An "external links" section could include some of the important reliable and validate source. Latest data on important figures is required to make the page carry useful information. It's missing.

Clarification

[edit]

Clarification of the information in the page is very important to make the page a validate or reliable source of information. In the sneakers page it talks about the 20th century but the information does not clarify the whole statements. In the page there's a statement where it tells about the word 'sneaker' how the word 'sneaks' was used but there's no clarification of the sources. The names section talking about different names and countries lack clarification of information.

Conclusion

[edit]

Overall, Pages need clarification of a lot of information with a reliable or validate source and should included some external links from trustworthy sources. Pages need citations when talking about important statements and dates. The data or information talks about years 2020-21 which is not a trait of updates pages. Updated information benefit others. Provided information really need some reliable and validate sources to trust on especially when talking about some important statements related to history of sneakers or where the sneakers word came from or what's its called in different countries.
