Charlotte Avery is currently the President of the Girls School Association(GSA) and the Headmistress of an all-girls Catholic school called St Mary's Cambridge.

Education

Avery was educated at the Highgate School, Norwich High School, South Hampstead High School. She graduated from King's college London. She has an MA in Education Management and a National Professional Qualification for Headship(NPQH).

Early Career

Avery taught English and Drama at various different schools including state, independent, co-Ed and single sex school. Avery was a member of the MoD's research. She began her career teaching English and Drama at Newstead Wood, Orpington. She then moved to South Hampstead High School and became Second in Department before transferring to Norwich High School, GDST, as Head of English and Drama and subsequently Head of Sixth Form. In 2004 she was appointed Deputy Head (Pastoral) at Highgate School and oversaw its successful transition towards full co-education and the transfer of senior school entry from 13+ to 11+.
