Dominican Nuns-Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary The Dominican Nuns of the Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary, Summit, New Jersey are cloistered, contemplative nuns, professing Solemn Vows as Nuns of the Order of Preachers, founded by St. Dominic in 1206.

This monastery was founded in 1919 by Mother Mary Imelda, OP and 14 other nuns from the Perpetual Rosary Monastery of Union City, New Jersey.The monastery follows the traditional monastic observances of chanted Divine Office, Prayer, Study, Work, Enclosure, traditional habit They also has the privilege of Perpetual Rosary and Adoration, the Adoring Rosary.

In 1926 the Community began Perpetual Adoration and on November 21, 1955 received the privilege of Solemn Profession, making them full members of the Order of Preachers. In 1947, they made their first foundation, the Monastery of Our Lady of Grace, North Guilford, CT and in 1977 made yet another foundation, the Monastery of Our Lady of the Rosary, Cainta, Rizal, Philippines.

The Nuns of the Order of Preachers have a unique mission in the Church. At the heart of the Holy Preaching their lives of prayer and penance are united with the work of the Preaching Mission of the Dominican Order. They are the "Silent Preacheress" and by the witness of their lives they proclaim that in Christ alone is true happiness to be found, here by grace and afterwards in glory.

In 2006, the Nuns of the Order of Preachers began the 800th anniversary of the founding of the first monastery of Nuns by St. Dominic in Prouille, France. Their are Dominican monastery all over the world , the newest foundations being in Cananda, S. Africa, and India.
