Welcome, fellow Wikipedian! Thanks for visiting.

I'm an electrical engineer with a background in computer architecture and interests in programming, music, ancient history, genealogy, and science fiction (among other things). The only subject I've found so far that I'm an expert in that hasn't already been described in depth on this site is ragtime music, so most of my contributions have been in that area. I improved the Ragtime page, added the list of ragtime composers, and contributed quite a few composer biographies.

I adopted "Skylax" as an internet alias some years ago, at a time when I thought it prudent to remain anonymous while poking around in cyberspace. It seems less important now, but I continue to use the name out of habit. The original Skylax was an ancient Greek Christopher Columbus who explored India and the Arabian peninsula for the Persians in the sixth century BC, so it seemed an appropriate name to use while exploring the net.
