We're an encyclopedia. That means we need to get things right. That's especially important on articles like articles dealing with living people. But that does not give you Carte Blanche to edit war, disrupt Wikipedia to make a point, or to fight incessantly over policies, without using Wikipedia's Dispute Resolution.
In those cases, try "It has to be right. But it doesn't have to be right, right this instant." Articles may be merged, articles may be deleted, but at the end of discussion, once a consensus has been established and policy followed, it's a trivial thing for any admin to undo a redirect, restore a deleted article, provide a copy of a deleted article for moving to another wiki or what have you. It's a matter of seconds.
Too many edit wars are touched off when Bold, Revert, Discuss becomes instead, "Bold, Revert, Revert, Revert, Revert, Revert, Argue incessantly". This takes up hours of time that coule be better used improving other Wikipedia articles, or even improving the ones under discussion to fully comply with Wikipedia's core policies. It also leads to un-necessary argument, ill will, and even causes good editors to leave the project.
Instead, step back, use Dispute Resolution and wait for a proper consensus to emerge and then follow Wikipedia's core policies with that consensus.
