The creator and host of the podcast program for the Academy of General Dentistry, Dr. Wesley Blakeslee interviews prominent dental educators, clinicians and manufacturers on the latest products, materials and techniques in dentistry. The audience consists of approximately 35,000 dentists in the US and Canada.
Career
[edit]Dr Blakeslee is a Diplomate of both the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. He is a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics, and the Misch Implant Institute. Dr. Blakeslee serves on the Advisory Board for the journal General Dentistry where he is the section head for Implantology, and is a manuscript reviewer for the Journal of Oral Implantology and the Sports Health Journal. He is a consultant to the GoldenMisch Company (Detroit), CAESY Education Systems (Seattle), and The Dental Advisor (Chicago). In 1983, Dr Blakeslee established a general dentistry practice in Wall, NJ, dedicated to the comprehensive rehabilitation of patients utilizing the most advanced treatment modalites. In 2004, he was recognized as “One of the Best Dentists” in Monmouth County by the Asbury Park Press.

Education
[edit]Dr Blakeslee completed his undergraduate studies at Gettysburg College in Pennsylvania. After two years of graduate study in biology at [[shu.edu|Seton Hall University]] where he was a teaching assistant, he was accepted to UMDNJ-NJ Dental School where he earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree in 1979. Following dental school, Dr Blakeslee was commissioned a Lieutenant in the US Navy Dental Corps and served for three years at the Naval Air Station Pensacola, FL. During the last year of his tour of active duty, he was designated the dentist to the “Blue Angels” precision flying team by his commanding officer.
Personal Life
[edit]Dr.Blakeslee enjoys spending his free time with his wife and three children. His interests include photography, golf, swimming, and music.
