I've seem the painting Melbourne Burning at Museum of Old and New Art any number of times.

While it depicts a Melbourne of the imagination, it's quite obvious to me that it's a Melbourne seen from Boyd's studio in Murrumbeena.

What's also obvious to me is that, from left to right, are

• Station Pier, Port Melbourne
• the docks at Williamstown
• the You Yangs in the distance, as seen from Murrumbeena
• Princes Bridge across the Yarra River, with trams included
• the old Sandridge Bridge and the still existing Flinders Street Viaduct
• a Gothic Revival style church, with no doubt St Paul's Cathedral, Melbourne
• the Melbourne Cricket Ground

Question: So, why not add this to the Melbourne Burning article? They seem quite plausible.

Answer: My personal opinions about what is depicted in the painting is just that, purely my own opinion. If I could find Reliable sources to back up my own opinions, then I would add them in.
