Shanker Sampangi is a PhD Research Scholar at EFL University, Hyderabad. His area of research is Dalit Studies[1]. In his M.Phil he worked on “History and Politics of Dalit Human Rights in Andhra Pradesh”. His interest areas are Dalit Rights, Human Rights, Disability Movements and NGO’s. He has published a Book “Aviti Kathalu” (Telugu Disability Narratives). Moreover, as part of his interest, he also worked with NGOs and National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, 2005 (MGNREGS)[2]. He has recently visited Bergen Summer Research School[3] situated at Norway to attend the summer school research workshop on Global Governance and Challenges. Presently he is working on “Social movements and Empowerment; A case of Dalits in Telangana, in the Department of Cultural Studies, The English and Foreign Languages University[4], Hyderabad, India
