Cellular Sales (also known as Cellular Sales of Knoxville, Inc.) is a management company operating retail stores for authorized Verizon Wireless products. The company is headquartered in Knoxville, Tennessee, and is the largest Verizon-exclusive dealer in the nation.[1]
The company was founded in 1993 by Dane Scism,[1][2] with one store in Knoxville, Tennessee, and three mall kiosks in the Knoxville area. To date, Cellular Sales has opened more than 400 stores across the nation[3], and a national call center in Knoxville.[4]
In 2011, the company was listed for the fourth consecutive year on the Inc. 5000, a ranking of the nation's fastest-growing privately-held companies.[5] The company was ranked #1449 overall and was listed as the 69th fastest-growing privately-owned retailer on the overall list.[5] In previous years, Cellular Sales was ranked #1856 overall (2010)[5], #2069 overall in 2009[5] and #2546 overall when the company debuted on the list in 2008.[5].
Cellular Sales has experienced a 193% increase in revenues between 2007 and 2010, with total revenues listed as $488.5 million in 2010.[5].
