This is the article I will be updating. The article right now is sufficiently referenced, but the extent of the legal management facing Kaleidescape is not up to date. As of recently, the Kaleidescape company has taken its DVD CCA (copy control association) decision to allow it to copy DVDs and host them digitally in their device, even though the DVD CCA decided that the copying of DVDs is illegal even if the CCS (content scrambling system) remains intact. The recent moves made by Kaleidescape to host Blu-Ray discs on their device has brought upon a new set of legal battles. While they maintain that the DVD CCA court case decision to host DVD discs on their device will established the appropriate precedent to work with Blu-Ray discs, they still have to surmount the same type of legal hurdles to continue their work with that type of disc format. I am having trouble finding information on the more recent developments concerning their ability to host Blu-Ray discs, but given that their legal battle over hosting DVDs began in 2004 and did not end until three or so years later, the chances that the courts will make a decision of any kind concerning Blu-Ray discs soon are slim.

[edit]You've received a Check (higher than a check minus, lower than a check plus) basically because there hasn't yet been a consultation of an online or campus ambassador. This article is perfect to edit and I think your ideas are great. You're absolutely right that it has a ton of references right now and that work needs to be put into expanding and organizing legal issues stemming from fair use. Fun fact, extremely similar to the article I edited last semester. http://wiki.riteme.site/wiki/RealNetworks,_Inc._v._DVD_Copy_Control_Association,_Inc. PatBerger (talk) 22:55, 14 March 2011 (UTC)
