JOELLE LURIE Joelle is a multi genre vocalist specializing in Jazz. She was featured on Michael Feinstein's NPR show, "Song Travels". ([1]). Additionally, Joelle was a Resident Artist with Lincoln Center Education. She got her start singing at Showtime at The Apollo while in high school.
EDUCATION Joelle was classically trained in opera and received her Bachelors of Music from Boston University's College of Fine Arts. She also studied at Indiana University’s School of Music, New England Conservatory, Tanglewood, and The New Contemporary & Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute.
ACTING AND VOICE OVERS Joelle’s stage credits include the 24 Hour Musicals Festival (Gramercy Theatre), soloist with the Boston Holiday Pops, and Jerry Springer The Opera (Speakeasy Stage Company). Joelle has also appeared on The Wendy Williams Show.
Joelle's voice can also be heard on a variety of recordings, voiceover spots, jingles, and backup vocals. She was a backup vocalist for NBC’s Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting ceremony, on the album The Historical Conquests of Josh Ritter (Sony Victor/Independent) and more. Currently her voice appears on national ads for AVON.
JOJO & THE PINECONES During her residency at Lincoln Center, Joelle formed a kids band called JoJo & The Pinecones. Together, they have played Lollapalooza in Chicago ([2]), Madison Square Park ([3]), and BAM ([4]).
Additional venues include, they have performed at Lincoln Center, Rainbow Room, Birdland Jazz Club, SubCulture, Zinc Bar, New York Stock Exchange, Four Seasons, Top of the Rock, Regattabar in Cambridge, Mass., Tavern on The Green (regular performer), The Boom Boom Room at The Standard Hotel, Rockwood Music Hall, and as the featured house band for the James Beard Foundation’s annual galas and events.
