I am a linguist and translator by education and trade. However, this isn't necessarily reflected in what pages I edit - I've tried creating two articles here on the English Wikipedia but I'm struggling with the notability guidelines, meaning they're both moribundi. Most of my edits, then, are random, comprising typo-fixing, reformulations, and the occasional reformat (such as that of the Tim Bentinck page, which I found really difficult to navigate beforehand). I'm also active on the Czech Wikipedie, for which I have translated and edited the ~15-standard-pages-long Featured Article Enid Blyton. I'm still a little bit sore that while I have received praise for that feat on my talk page, the article itself isn't a Featured one.
Interests
[edit]This is a short overview of what I'm interested in and what I'm likely to read about, on Wikipedia and elsewhere.
Languages
[edit]I speak Czech and English fluently, have a communicative/reading level of proficiency in French, and I also know the basics of Finnish and Italian. In addition to these, I have come across or briefly studied Czech Sign Language, German, Basque, Quechua, and Romani, though my knowledge of these languages is mostly limited to a few phrases and/or typological information.
Videogames
[edit]My username gives this one away: among others, I have fond memories of Serious Sam, as well as of Gothic, Age of Empires, Dungeon Siege, Dota 2, Warhammer: The End Times - Vermintide (especially thanks to its writing and voice acting), and various racing games, mostly of the arcade variety, such as Midtown Madness 2.
Nuclear energetics
[edit]This is a bit of an odd one. Sparked quite a few years ago by a TV documentary, this is an interest that can get me weird looks from my friends and relatives. Everything about it fascinates me, from the inner workings I learnt about in secondary education, to the sheer scale of any project related to it, be it fuel mining or plant construction, to the terrifying consequences the smallest mistake can lead to.
