Senator Juma Benard is taking Bachelor in Actuarial Science In Meru University and a student leader at the University. He is a scholar of law from Mount Kenya University.

He is also pointed as one of those who organized for a Strike in Meru University demanding for the reinstatement of their Vice Chancellor Prof Romanus Odhiambo

Senator Juma Benard is one of the politician and founders of Azimio Youth leadership Siaya Chapter and participated in popularizing Azimio in Siaya county in the last 2022 general election
