User:Seanpm2001
Wikipedia is one of my top sites. I had an account here in the past, but it was used when I was inexperienced with Wikipedia's guidelines. I hope to be a better contributor now. I likely won't contribute too much here for now.
I am not active on Wikipedia as a signed-in user. You can reach out to me on GitHub if needed: https://github.com/seanpm2001/
Past account
[edit]Seanwallawalla
[edit]My past account went by the name SeanWallaWalla. It is my old online handle, but I still use it someplaces. My past offense was creating a Wikipedia page for myself. The problem with this is that it breaks multiple rules, and isn't allowed, since I am not notable for a Wikipedia page yet.
Other past accounts
[edit]I did not create any other past accounts.
Reach out
[edit]I am most active on GitHub. See the above link. For reaching out to me, please note that I am in the Pacific Time Zone (UTC-8) you can message me at any time 24/7 but I likely won't respond if you message me between 11:20 pm to 10:55 am.
If you are to criticize me, please do so constructively. Non-constructive criticism is pointless and unhelpful.
Wikipedia
[edit]I am only on the English Wikipedia, I speak several languages, but most of them I cannot make out a single sentence. I can only speak English fluently.
GitHub

I no longer use Reddit. There were too many dark patterns, and it damaged my mental health.
Discord
[edit]I am on Discord, but I don't feel it is appropriate to link it here. I am looking for a privacy focused alternative to Discord.
Quora
[edit]I am on Quora, but I don't respond here.
Protonmail
[edit]I use ProtonMail, but I don't feel it is appropriate to link it here.
Interests
[edit]I have strong interests in computer science, and history. I also have interests in hundreds of topics, including typography, linguistics, mathematics, robotics, geography, skeuomorphism, and more.
Computer programming
[edit]I program in the Python programming language mainly, but also write in Java, C, C++, and Boo natively. I can write in other languages as well, as I am a programming language savant.
print("Hello Wikipedia!")
noMore = input("Press [ENTER] key to continue")
Graphic design
[edit]I am a critic of flat design, and prefer Skeuomorphism. For editing, I use GIMP, Scratch 2, Shotwell, and Inkscape. I used to use Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Animate, MS-PAINT, and Microsoft Paint 3D.
Flat design
[edit]I dislike flat design, see more below.
Skeuomorphism
[edit]Although an unpopular stance, I am strongly against flat design, and strongly in favor of Skeuomorphism. Modern flat design looks ugly, and makes me depressed. If Skeuomorphism doesn't come back, we should at least have it as an optional view mode. Even gradient or a detailed pattern fill would be fine with me.
Common examples of Skeuomorphism I enjoy are Apples Mac OS X/OS X (Up to OS X 10.9) iPhoneOS and iOS (up to iOS 6) QuickTime 1 to 7, Android 1.0 to 2.3, Windows XP to Windows 7, GNOME 1 and 2, KDE 1 to 3.5, among other examples.
History
[edit]I am a major history buff, and read about history in my spare time. I have interest in most fields of history, including pre-history, local history, technical history, military history, cultural history, art history, and more. My favorite subjects are the Roman Empire, the Napoleonic Wars, World War 2, the history of Europe, Asia, the Americas, and Africa, history of open source software, the Cambrian Explosion, and more.
Linguistics
[edit]I am strongly into linguistics, it is mostly a vanity thing, but I also like to preserve languages, especially endangered ones. As a child, I jokingly had the middle name of "Language"
Robotics
[edit]I am still getting into robotics, I have attempted to build in the past, but haven't had much success.
Geography
[edit]I am into geography. Like linguistics, it is mostly a vanity thing.
Typography
[edit]I love typography, although I don't make too much use of it at times. I am still looking to find a blackletter font for Linux.
WikiPDF
[edit]I have an offline copy of Wikipedia articles I visit as a curated archive of my Wikipedia viewing history. It is a strange habit, but it is useful. I use it when I want to read offline, or don't want to open a web browser.
The collection (as of 2022 January 18th) has over 11230 entries and counting. It archives every article I have ever visited.
Entries are viewed using Okular offline. The project was started on 2021 July 23rd.
