Sean Thomas McAndrew was born in Birmingham, England in December 1973.

Son of renowned Mayo All-Ireland Senior Football Championship winner John McAndrew, Sean graduated with a BEng (Hons) in Civil & Structural Engineering from the University of Sheffield, and an MSc (Eng) in Construction Management from the University of Birmingham.

In 2000, Sean embarked upon the EPSRC funded Engineering Doctorate EngD programme run by the Centre for Innovative and Collaborative Engineering (CICE) at Loughborough University.

Sean presently works for Taylor Woodrow as an IT Business Systems Analyst.
