Crouch appears in the disguise of famed Auror Alastor "Mad-Eye" Moody who was hired to be the new Defense Against the Dark Arts Professor at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Using this post, Crouch attempts to get closer to Harry Potter under the wishes of his master, Lord Voldemort. He pulls multiple stings in order for Harry to win the Triwizard Tournament, as his plan includes replacing the Triwizard Cup with a Portkey to transport Harry to the graveyard in Little Hangleton to resurrect Voldemort. Crouch was portrayed by Scottish actor David Tennant in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire and by Brendan Gleeson under the guise of Mad-Eye Moody.
