Merge to Vatican Pharmacy
The government owned Vatican Pharmacy, officially (Latin) FARMACIA VATICANA, is the only one in Vatican City. It's history dates back to 1277, although it has been not always been located in the same building. It is located at Piazza del Belvedere since 1929.
Trivia
[edit]A director serving one of the longest time span ever for that establishment was the the Australian clergyman Fabian Hynes, Prior of the St John of God Community, Vatican. He started working for the Vatican Pharmacy in 1955 and was the pharmacy's director from 1956 until 2006.[1]
The pharmacy is open from Monday trough Saturday except on Catholic holidays, ph. +39.06.69883422.
Viagra is not sold due of religious reasons. During the Belle Epoque (1890-1914), a triple-anisette "San Pietro" vermouth was produced by the Vatican pharmacy.[1]
