Scott Schaefer Overview
[edit]I have been an avid reader/user of Wikipedia since 2007, initially seeking knowledge and performing research. Since 2010 Wikipedia has increasingly become a technical resource because it was my inspiration in developing several community wikis as an adjunct to my Lexington Development network of websites. In fact, I have created a wiki to act as technical source material, research material and documentation for Global Trade Funding, a website I authored for a company I helped start up. The Trade Finance Wiki is in no way complete, but it is growing.
Authorship
[edit]Due, in part to the MediaWiki platform I have become a prolific writer, authoring more than 6,000 pages of website content, wiki pages and blog articles since 2012. I was also briefly a syndicated political writer for Technorati, who began syndicating my political writings in 2012 before retiring their content publishing platform. I also became a verified and highly ranked Google Author in 2013 before Google pulled-back from the Goofle+ Google Authorship program. A partial list of some of my Notable written work is listed on a subpage.
Using Wikimedia Websites
[edit]I began using Wikipedia as a research tool when web authoring by creating and developing a website for the Dallas home building company I founded, Lexington Luxury Builders, when in 2008 the website development company I had engaged to create the site went out of business. Thus, with no prior authoring, web design or web development experience I was thrust into creating websites for the Lexington Companies and Lexington Development. Necessity truly was the mother of invention. Finding I enjoyed creating and developing the websites, and writing the content, I expanded further by creating the first two of what are now many blogs which I publish, the Dallas Urban Blog which focuses on the subjects of urban real estate development, Dallas urban real estate and green building, followed almost immediately by the Lexington Urban Blog which focuses more on new urbanism and my new urban real estate development activities. I have since started and become the primary author and publisher of a total of twenty three websites and blogs, the latter becoming increasingly focused on politics.

Career Path Change Internet Marketing
[edit]Having been a successful new urban real estate developer and home builder in Dallas for twenty five years (see Notable real estate projects) my business was devastated by the collapse of the housing market in 2008. Unable to continue on that career path I changed course in late 2010 and began working on the development of a new start-up property in website design and search engine optimization.
The start-up Lexington Development was launched very quietly in April 2011 to an Alexa internet rank of just over 4,200,000. Hardly a big splash. However, as of the date of this writing (September 19, 2011) the Alexa Rank for Lexington Development has improved for 164 straight days, hitting the rank of 217,994 in the world.
Part of the altered career path is finally doing something I have always wanted to do, which is write. In that regard fortune has favored me because Technorati is now syndicating my column from Intelligent US Politics. My first article syndicated by Technorati entitled Justice Done In Wisconsin As Supreme Court Ruling Crushes Unions was published June 15, 2011, thus it seems career 2.0 is coming together. I am now publishing five (5) websites and seven (7) weblogs, plus the American Politics Wiki and the Internet Wiki.
