Lady Styling is a sub-catagory of Salsa Dancing. It is when a female salsa dancer adds styling to her dancing. Styling is added by incorporating arm and hand movements into the dance patterns, as well as body waves, body isolation and salsa shines. There are different types of styling taught around the world.

History - The definition of the word "Lady Styling" actually started in the salsa community when professional female salsa dancers began to perform all girl salsa shows in congresses. It continued to evolve with time, and eventually, professional salsa instructors began to teach "Lady Styling". There are three levels of Lady Styling. Beginner, Intermediate and Professional. An example of one of the most renown Salsa Lady Styling instructor around the world is Marie Josee Strazzero[1]. She is one of the strongest contributors to the Lady Styling education world-wide. She trains thousands of dancers around the world and is admired for the styling she adds to her dance as well as her outstanding technique. She is a dance champion and has won hundreds of dance competitions[2]. Marie Josee Strazzero is also the co-owner of mjstrazzero, which is a Online Dance Academy[3], where anyone can take Salsa Dancing Lessons Online on her website. [4]

→Beginner Lady Styling- This is the basic level of styling. The lady styling in the beginner level is easy arm and hand styling movements a salsa dancer integrates into their basic salsa step, left and right turns, basic shine patterns as well as simple body waves and isolation.

→Intermediate Lady Styling- In the intermediate level of lady styling, dancers begin to add complex foot patterns/shines as well as begin to incorporate continuous styling from one 8 count to the next. This requires great practice and memory. The dancer at this level will be adding different variations of styling to each movement.

→Professional Lady Styling- At the professional level of lady styling, the dancer will not only be able to style incredible complex movements, but also at a very fast pace and execute the movement perfectly. This level requires great flexibility and cardio. This level also requires the capability to explain each movement to another dancer to the point where the teach can explain and teach a student the movement.
