Simon Cole was born in Melbourne, Australia and graduated at La Trobe University's Behavioural Science department. In 1987 he studied Aboriginal Community Administration at the Aboriginal Task Force in the South Australian Institute of Technology. From 1988 his career in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) included universities in Japan, the U.K. and Australia, a Graduate Diploma in Education (TESOL) at New England University, Armidale (N.S.W.) and a Master of Science in Education at Aston University, U.K.. He lives in Brisbane, advocating sustainability and maintains a website called Equanimity.
