The State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine (SAEE) is the central executive authority which implements state policy in the spheres of efficient fuel and energy resources usage, energy saving, renewable energy sources and alternative fuels in Ukraine.

The SAEE activities are directed and coordinated by the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine through the Minister of Energy.

The SAEE main tasks are:

  • implementing state policy in the spheres of energy efficiency, energy saving, renewable energy sources and alternative fuels;
  • ensuring the increase of renewable energy sources and alternative fuels share in the energy balance of Ukraine;
  • providing administrative services in the relevant spheres;
  • submitting proposals to the Minister of Energy to ensure state policy development in these spheres.

From June 25, 2020 according to the Ukrainian Government orders №742-r, №743-r and №746-r:

  • Kostiantyn Gura is the First Deputy Head of State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine, acting Head;
  • Yurii Shafarenko is the Deputy Head of State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine.

  • Ihor Cherkashyn - Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Efficient Energy Resources Usage from March 5, 2008 [13] till April 15, 2009[14].
  • Serhii Yermilov - Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Efficient Energy Resources Usage from April 15, 2009[15] till May 31, 2010[16].
  • Mykola Pashkevych - Head of the National Agency of Ukraine on Efficient Energy Resources Usage from June 16, 2010[17] till December 24, 2010[18], Head of the State Agency on Energy Efficiency and Energy Saving of Ukraine from December 24, 2010[19] till December 20, 2013[20].
