The following are people who have self-identified as asexual:

  • Tim Gunn (Project Runway) [1]
  • Janeane Garofalo (Wet Hot American Summer) [2]
  • Caitlyn Jenner [3]

The following are characters in American pop culture who have either been identified as asexual or are strongly assumed to be:

  • Book characters: Sherlock Holmes (Sherlock Holmes), Charlie Weasley (Harry Potter), Raphael (The Mortal Instruments) [4], Jughead (Archie comics) [5], Katniss Everdeen (The Hunger Games)
  • TV/Movie characters: The Doctor (Doctor Who) (esp. the Ninth Doctor), Natasha Romanoff (Marvel's The Avengers), Spencer Reid (Criminal Minds), Monty Green (The 100), Castiel (Supernatural) [6], Sheldon Cooper (The Big Bang Theory), Spock (Star Trek), Daryl Dixon (The Walking Dead) [7], Voodoo (Sirens) [8], Varys (Game of Thrones) [9], Dexter (Dexter)

It's worth noting that some of these characters are directly identified as asexual by someone involved in the production of the work (a producer, director, writer/author, etc.) but some are not, and are only assumed as such on fandom-dominated social media sites such as Tumblr.
