Construction Skills Certification Scheme or CSCS is a skills certification scheme for the UK Construction industry.[1]
The CSCS is operated as not-for-profit limited company made up of employer organisations and UK trade unions from across the construction industry.
The CSCS cards aim to provide certification that individuals working on construction sites have the required training and qualifications to complete the work required of them.
As of 2014 there were almost 2 million cardholders in the UK.[2] The Card scheme is administered by the Construction Industry Training Board
The scheme's cards can be used in conjunction a sites physical access control systems to ensure that only qualified personnel can gain access to restricted areas of the site[3]
