The provincial average of New Brunswicker whose mother tongue is French is 29.5%, with a total of 225,560 people in New Brunswick who identify French as their mother tongue in 2021.
There are several Acadians communities throughout New Brunswick, although the majority of francophones in New Brunswick reside in the western section and eastern sections of the province with several communities being francophone majority.
