Roman Rozell (2000-present) is an American on-air radio personality who is currently attending Central Michigan University studying to earn a bachelor's degree in Broadcasting and Cinematic Arts. Born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on June 13, 2000. Rozell has received numerous awards ranging from Model UN competitions to All-Conference Scholar Athlete in his senior year of high school.

Early Life

Roman Rozell's life began on June 13, 2000 in Grand Rapids, Michigan at exactly 8:41 p.m. Growing up, Roman lived in Ada, MI with his family. His mother Judy, father Richard, half-brother Casey, sister Paige, and brother Alex. Roman is the youngest of his family, often referred to as the "baby of the family who gets everything". In his early years, Roman and his brother would enjoy the outdoors by climbing trees, riding go-carts, playing all types of so-called "sports" most of which had a Rozell spin on them, and having mud fights in the backyard creek at their ranch house where the Rozell family lived until 2010. Roman played multiple sports once he came of age, and he did not disappoint. He played soccer, football, and baseball receiving multiple all-star selections.

Early Education

Roman attended Alto Elementary School for grades Kindergarten-Fifth. Alto Elementary is a school in the Lowell Area Schools District. Roman completed elementary school as a straight A student in all subjects including lunch, recess, and potty time. Roman is a back-to-back Geography Bee runner-up in both his fourth and fifth grade years. Emphasis on the runner-up showing he didn't win, the only trophy he received was a piece of card stock paper. Roman was also a captain of a competitive team who competed in a trivia contest in which his team lost because someone said Hawaii when they should have said Puerto Rico. During that competition, Roman answered every question he was asked correctly. Another contest Roman participated in was the fifth grade spelling bee in which he was absolutely terrible and doesn't want to think about it still to this day. Rozell's first ever performance in his life was lip sync concerts performed by he and his siblings, but his first organized one was as the third little pig in the play Three Little Pigs. It is safe to say he performed so well he tickled everyone's' hairs on their little chin chins. After Alto Elementary, Roman attended Lowell Middle School, a place where Roman dominated the hallways, acted as a second teacher in most of his classes, and had everyone looking up to him (especially the kid with a bottom locker below his). Middle school was the same in terms of grades as Roman still pulled straight A's even in advanced classes including Math, Science, and English. Starting in sixth grade Roman began playing the viola in his school's orchestra. And quoting some of his friends, his playing was "prodigy-like, absolutely life changing, and made me want to get a second pair of ears". This phase of his life would last through his ninth grade year.

High School

After running the show in middle school, Roman then moved on to be a Red Arrow at Lowell High School. In high school Roman maintained his straight A's and graduated with a 4.121 GPA, 23rd in his Class of 2018. Over the duration of his high school career Roman participated in a multitude of extra-curricular activities including baseball, National Honors Society, Student Council, Tennis, and much, much more. Roman also held many leadership positions as he was the Treasurer of the National Honor Society, and a three time captain of the Red Arrow Tennis teams (JV-1, V-2). Rozell also continued his history of losing as not only once, but twice Roman lost a Presidential election in just the four years at Lowell High School. He lost in his running for the Student Body President of the Class of 2018. He then again lost in his AP Government class for president by one state thanks to his "conservative" Vice President who was more liberal than a Prius. In high school, Roman also began his radio career with the school radio station, WRWW. Roman graduated a mature, handsome, young man who is ready to pursue his dream career as a national play-by-play sportscaster.

Tennis

Roman Rozell began playing tennis the summer between his freshman and sophomore year. In his first year he was captain of the Junior Varsity team as he was the top player on the team playing #1 doubles for the Red Arrows. In his first year Roman broke one racket by slamming it on the court in frustration because again his losing streak still continued. By the end of the season Roman was called up to varsity #2 doubles, only to continue his losing streak in the state playoffs. His next and final two years playing tennis were that in the same in which he was team captain of the Varsity Red Arrows team, continued his losing streak, and broke another racket. There was one difference though. In his senior season, Roman created the nickname for himself as the "tweener king" because he hit four tweeners in match, which in a unrecorded school record. Roman finished his tennis career with a 0-3 record in the playoffs. Rozell wrapped his career up and put a bow on top by delivering a heart-wrenching, tear-jerking retirement speech after the conclusion of his senior season. Roman continues to impact in the sport of tennis by coaching younger kids in the Lowell area creating a bright future for the Red Arrows.

WRWW

As mentioned previously, Roman Rozell began his radio career with the school radio, WRWW. Roman started his own radio show simply playing music as an on-air DJ starting actually in the latter part of his eighth grade year until he was joined by his good friend to create a sports talk radio show which continued through all four years of high school. Starting in his sophomore year, Roman moved from the baseball diamond into the press box and began broadcasting the Red Arrow baseball and softball games on WRWW. One of Roman's greatest accomplishments is when he broadcasted the Michigan High School All-Star Baseball game at Comerica Park, home of the Detroit Tigers. Roman owes all of his success in the sports entertainment business to his start at WRWW and the station manager. WRWW was a great opportunity for Roman Rozell and he hopes it can be for many other students.

College

Roman began his college career at Central Michigan University in the Fall of 2018 to pursue a career in the sports entertainment industry. In Roman Rozell's first few weeks of classes at Central Michigan University, he has joined numerous groups and clubs including: the National Broadcasters Association, Residence Hall Assembly, and the university radio and television stations.
