Lead evaluation

[edit]

The lead clearly presents the topic, password managers. The lead presents the definition of password manager and the value it provides to users. However, it does not describe all the sections of the article. It does not include the general opinion of the critics or the lack of adoption of password managers. The article is concise and gives the reader a general idea of what to expect from the rest of the article, this allows for further development of details in the body of the article.

Content

Content evaluation

[edit]

All the information in this article is relevant to password managers. All the resources are between 2017 - 2020 which is fairly recent and up-to-date. One aspect of this topic that is extremely important is the impact this has made to users. Having an online password manager should be a very useful tool to improve security however as described by the article there is a low adoption rate. There should be more information describing the discrepancy. Another suggestion would be to add more statistics, to further support your topic. For example, in the section about low adoption rate include how low the rate truly is. Having more statistics would further develop your point.

Tone and Balance

Tone and balance evaluation

[edit]

This article presents two perspectives of the password manager programs. This is great because it shows an unbiased and well rounded understanding of the topic. There is no side of the topic that is favored more than another. The positive and negative views are presented throughout the article however, there is slightly more focus on the positive, more positive information is represented. But the information presented does not persuade the reader for or against having a password manager. This article is intended to present the information available in a neutral way.

The content is organized into multiple sections. It starts off with a lead that introduces password managers to the readers. It goes on to explain various features of the program. Then it goes into the opinions of critics and the low rate of adoption. It is understandable why it has this order, first it presents the topic and goes on to share other perspectives and supports the reason why the adoption rate is low. These sections make the topic easier to read and to understand. There are no grammar mistakes on the article.
