GROK is an online support website that provides 24 hours services such as articles and demonstrations on how to resolve computing issues that LSU students and faculty might have. GROK was created by Brandon Johnson a LSU graduate, while he was still working towards obtaining his degree. The articles and visuals on the website are created and maintained by students as well as staff members. As technology continues to grow, the website and its operators develop new ways to help its users by constantly updating new articles.[1].

Operations

[edit]

GROK is written in ASP.NET and uses IIS 7 to display its articles[2].

Articles

[edit]

The articles on this website cover a vast variety of computer issues. There are articles to help users connect to the internet any location within LSU's WiFi network. There are a number of articles that cover all different types of operating systems from Windows to Mac and even Linux. One of the most common uses for GROK is for technical support for students and faculty trying to figure out Moodle, LSU's website for displaying course information from teachers to students[3].

Mobile

[edit]

Grok has created website support that now is available on mobile smart phones. This allows for quicker access to the site and also allows for people to troubleshoot problems anywhere that they arise[4].
