The Steadys - New York City ska band c.1989-1991 (2-Tone style). Most notable contribution was their recordings on the Moon Records LP release "NYC SKA LIVE", at the Cat Club in the winter of 1990. The film, of the same name, was never produced due to violent outbreaks, caused by local skinheads, at the venues where the filming was taking place. The last incident, which caused the cancellation of the production, occurred at a N.Y. Citizens show at CBGB's. Skinheads attacked one of the cameramen resulting in the destruction of production equipment. The film was meant to be a sequel to the cult favorite Dance Craze. The Steadys' bass player, Ani Schempfe (a.k.a. DJ On-E), went on to join the pop group Dee-lite in 1993 and multiple solo projects after the band's demise in 1991.
