From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Here is a list of books that I currently own in my personal collection and available for source checking, or article expansion. As a history major, and a long-time editor of Wikipedia, I am accustomed to finding the best, most reliable sources possible on a topic. Having unlimited access of my school library, and shopping around thrift stores I get a hold of dozens of books, mostly history a month. If I start reading the book, and see it is loaded with errors, poorly researched, outdated, extremely boring and uninformative, or overly personal/biased, I simply either donate it to the local library, give it away as a gift or if the book is beyond salvageable, I throw it away. The very few books that survive goes to my personal library which is listed below. Many of the books are well-known books written by notable authors/historians and quite a number of them won Pulitzer Prizes and other notable awards. Others listed are extremely scarce written by obscure authors on obscure but notable topics. I have a small number of novels and self-help books as well, but they are not listed here unless they have any encyclopedic purpose. I will add books to this list as I get and read though them, and once in a while, remove them.

Found it sitting at a thrift store, was about to send it to my university library without reading it like usual, got stuck in heavy traffic while on my way to take it there, and decided quickly peek on it. One of the most surprising books I have ever read. Simply a scholarly, carefully researched, and fascinating topic which was probably written 10-20 years too soon. If written today, it would be a top best-seller for sure.

Not really a favorite here as you can tell by the publisher. The book is more ideological than historiographical, but rather accurate and probably the only ok source available on a topic currently in the news.
