Polk Records is a Boston, Massachusetts based independent record label. The label was formed in 2008 by Al Polk, guitarist and singer of the band Streight Angular. The label's mission is to "build community among artists and those that appreciate art."[1]

Activities

[edit]

Polk Records has put together shows at local clubs such as PA's Lounge, O'Brien's Pub and the All Asia Cafe. Most notable of these have been the Polkfest events. Polkfest 3 took place at the All Asia on February 28, 2010 and featured over 20 different performers[2]. Polkfest 4 took place on December 11 and 12, 2010. It was once again held at the All Asia Cafe and featured sets from over 40 different performers over the two days of the festival. The second Polk Records holiday compilation was released in conjunction with the festival[3].
