SM Town &Store (stylized as SMTOWN &STORE) is a South Korean e-commerce store
History
[edit]On April 2, 2019, it was reported that SM Entertainment would launch an online store with Cafe24 solution and join the global e-commerce market.[1] Lee Jae-seok, chief executive officer (CEO) of Cafe24, announced that they would open SM Town & Store, an official online store built by SM with its solution.[2] The store uses the Cafe24 solution to provide Korean, English, Japanese, and Chinese language on the website.[3] Cafe24 plans to deliver optimized business services such as logistics, delivery, overseas translation, and customer reception so that SM can successfully settle in the global e-commerce market.[4] Lee also stated that it would be "an opportunity to enhance the status of Korean Wave content" while further heightening its competitiveness globally.[5] The website was officially launched on April 5, 2019, with mobile application availability on April 12.[6]
Products and services
[edit]Consumers could purchase SM Entertainment artists' albums, photo books, goods, and various lifestyle-related products from beauty, fashion, and living recommended by the artists.[7] SM Town &Store has various shopping services such as personalized products and artist recommendations.[8] The store also offers a customized service called Celeb for You, which allows the consumers to check the latest products of celebrities and Media P!ck!, which presents items recommended by SM artists.[9]
