RavenGlamDVDCollector is Ivanhoe van Rooyen, a crazy South African who has a fondness for pretty girls in movies of hopefully good quality (but more than often not the case). I collect them on DVD (those I can find), and review on IMDb, and inbetween I'm working on my novel Angel Fox, the first attempt in the TimeStayer series. I have been a member for a period of more than a year, but up till today, have never attempted any editing on Wikipedia until noticing this morning that a researched song, “You're Unbelievable” wasn't up to date as far as having appeared on the Canadian TV series BEING ERICA, and the rest, after two silly mistakes, are now history, and I plan to make Wikipedia proud of me! 2015/05/07, 9:15:35 AM.
I live in the small town of Beaufort West, South Africa, and my extensive DVD collection still needs key items that cannot be bought in any shop or on any site, as the movies/TV series have not been released on DVD. From SAVANNAH and UNHAPPILY EVER AFTER that are only available as 'unpermissable products' due to not having the copyright authorization, to the unbelievably inane mishandling of THE SECRET CIRCLE, there is a host of TV series and movies and music videos I am desperately, quite quixotically in fact, looking for, and any assistance would be appreciated. That means you! In due course, I might list the items here, be warned that there are close to 200! Meanwhile, I can be e-mailed at RavenGlamDVDCollector@gmail.com 24/7, I will respond ASAP.
Mission Statement
[edit]RavenGlamDVDCollector is here to promote the memory of a few movies that weren't released on DVD, and, quite frankly, never will be. I have noticed that they do not even have representation on Wikipedia, and that, I feel, is to The Free Encyclopedia's own detriment, because they were conspicuous back in the day, why should they be forgotten by the foremost keeper of history? I therefore trust that my upcoming (potentially purile? eventually futile?) attempts will at least be tolerated in the spirit of "that guy's toting at windmills, but let him try"... Maybe you could again pick up after my mess and be galvanized into action like I managed with my surviving little chick A Vow to Kill which was to Wikipedia's benefit as well.
Please note that my userpage is currently being used as a testing ground for putting to use the skills I am slowly learning on Wikipedia. I am a crazy IMDb bird flown in to these strict encyclopedic shores, and I've ruffled a few feathers, but my interest will eventually benefit Wikipedia as I have currently no other objective but to create pages for forgotten/neglected movies that should have had representation on Wikipedia anyway. Seeing that these movies are unreleased on DVD, makes it very difficult for me to create plot synopses, which is why I had a little attempt going here on this page which Wikipedia administrators considered 'self-serving spam' - I was actually trying to further my research, and am still feeling a bit unjustly rebuffed, but I do abide with Wikipedia's rules. I do trust that I will one day have all the magic keys and complete the task to the glory of my pet projects, but I am an easily-rattled crazy IMDb bird and you guys are cats pouncing on my little hatchlings. One day though... :)
To Do Projects
[edit](1) Strive to add to A Vow to Kill (2) Create page for SILK 2 and FALL FROM GRACE (TV movie) (3) Re-attempt creating pages for BLOOD GAMES (movie) and TOTAL EXPOSURE (movie)
"TimeStayer"
[edit]{please note that the inclusion of this chapter on my userpage is intended as providing a space used as a sandbox for practicing editing and constructing of a Wikipedia page; the mentioned novel is an actual existing project close to my heart, but in no way exists in published reality}
All that is finalized at this stage is the first book of the series; it is called Angel Fox and is currently completed with 25 chapters done. The second book is called ForEver Young, and due to indecision regarding a crucial plot development, I've not done much more than the first few chapters, and am currently gearing up to rewrite one of them after lying myself into a dismal corner.
An instant tagline for the book might have been Beauty and the Beast 21 Double Zero, as it states the essence of the story, but how far would you go to stay ForEver Young? also strikes home, and would stop multitudes of people in their tracks!
synopsis
[edit]On the eve of the fall of Freedom City, former rogue agent Wolf catches a young girl rifling through his office files, and their futures are thrown together as startling revelations are made. He was genetically engineered to be a disposable Defender, and she is the former Princess of Exary, the daughter of his sworn enemy, the Leader of the Resistance. Theirs is a relationship filled with passion and undeniable yet forbidden love. Ultimately, the story is a joyous celebration of love, but with much opposition to this romance, notably her father. Think Beauty and the Beast meets Romeo and Juliet in a future world.
A tense, taut, kinky psycho-sexual thriller set in a not-too-distant future on an alternative dystopian Earth, a dark star-crossed romance amidst a world spinning haphazardly out of control.
The true merit of the controversial story, however, lies in the characterization, in the way I have strived to bring the protagonists to life, by "letting them fly off the page at the reader" in an unforgettable mix of comedy, drama and pathos. Admittedly, the storyline might alienate many, due to the essential sexual references linked to a pseudo-scientific core, but this humble yet proud author did his utmost to create a darling heroine backed up by a solid male lead. It is only my own opinion, but I do feel I have succeeded.
