The relationship between waist circumference and obesity According to BMI classification of overweight and obese individuals, men with low waist circumference are at no increased risk for being overweight, men with medium waist circumference are at increased risk for being overweight, and men with large waist circumference are at high risk for being overweight. Men with low waist circumference are at increased risk for obesity, men with medium waist circumference are at high for obesity, and men with large waist circumference are at very high risk for obesity.[1]
