Wikipedia's Neonatal nurse practitioner article for ENGL1101.27
[edit]Analysis of Article
[edit]Add here the issues you see with your current article that you might address. For instance: The introduction can be expanded and the following categories could all be added:
The issues that I see with my article is although there is a lot of great information in the article, however the introduction needs more information and the education section needs more information as well. Becoming a nurse practitioner takes a lot of training so when looking upon this article, people who are interested needs to know everything about becoming a nurse practitioner. Also the other sections like board of certification and the scope of practice could also use more information. So in conclusion I am going to revised the education section because I feel like that is the most important one and there is a lot of information that can be provided for this section.

Revised paragraph from article
[edit]An NNP may have a Master’s and/or Doctoral degree from an accredited nursing school with a specialty in neonatology. Most states require a national certification through the National Certification Corporation (NCC) and must participate in continuing education to maintain the certification.[14]
Revised
[edit]What is A NNP? NNP (neonatal nurse practitioner) helps with providing care to premature or ill newborns. They work closely with other nurses, doctors and families to make sure high-risk infants are developing well. A NNP is a registered nurse who has earned an advanced neonatal degree. At a minimum, a NNP must have a master's degree in their specialty, complete a residency and must have a certification and licensing as a neonatal nurse practitioner. It takes four years to become a nurse practitioner and normally when you specialize in pediatrics or neonatal or whatever you wish to specialize in, it takes about 6-8 years to become a nurse practitioner because you have at least 1-2 years of experience in a hospital.Cite error: The opening <ref>

Next, all nurses or nurse practitioners have to become certified. Certification and licensing are required in all states and a neonatal nurse practitioner must pass the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Board Exam. Working as a NNP also requires a two year graduate program. Between the years 2012-2022, there is a projected job growth of 34%for nurse practitioners. The salary of a neonatal nurse practitioner is $108,779.[15][16] There are three levels of Neonatal care, the first level is for healthy infants. The second level is for premature and sick infants who need more attention. And lastly, the third level is NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit) which is for seriously ill infants.
