I chose to compare the English and French Wikipedia articles on French Toast. I expected there to be some significant differences on how the different cultures viewed this particular dish, especially if the food dish actually originated in France like its English name would suggest. The English article is much longer and detailed than the French counterpart. The lead of the English article focuses on preparation of the dish while the French looks at different names for the dish in other countries. The English article also goes into different variations of the dish. The basic preparation information is similar. The use of the dish for "reclaiming" stale bread is also roughly equivalent. The English article has more historical information about texts where the dish was first recorded. I expected both articles to go into the origin of the dish, but there seems to be no conclusive evidence for the dish's country of origin despite its English name. French toast is a much older dish than expected.--Jeflicki (talk) 01:07, 25 March 2013 (UTC)
