Tremble is the second studio album by New Zealand singer-songwriter Jan Hellriegel. Released in 1995 through East West Records, it reached No. 15 in the New Zealand album charts and earned Hellriegel a nomination for Best Female at the 1996 New Zealand Music Awards. It would become her last full-length album for fourteen years.
Development and singles
[edit]Hellriegel was provided with more creative liberty in regards to Tremble than her debut, It's My Sin. Aided by Australian musician Daniel Denholm as its producer, this freedom eventuated in the album becoming a more personally written and hard rock-oriented album than its predecessor. "Geraldine" was released as the lead single from the album, reaching No. 34 in New Zealand in August of 1995. Also released in 1995 was "Manic (Is a State of Mind)," which would become the most successful from the album, peaking at No. 5 in Hellriegel's home country and earning a nomination for Single Of The Year at the 1996 New Zealand Music Awards. "Pure Pleasure," Tremble's third and final single, did not chart.
