This tournament was initiated by Citizens International as part of its 30th anniversary celebration to honour Dr Emmanuel Evans-Anfom and Late Madam Theodosia Okoh for their immense contributions towards the development of hockey in Ghana. The tournament invited selected Senior High Schools from Ashanti, Central and Greater Accra regions to participate. The participating schools were Achimota SHS (Boys and Girls), Adisadel College (Boys), St Augustines College (Boys), Mfantsipim SHS (Boys), Prempeh College (Boys), Yaa Asantewa SHS (Girls) and Wesley High Girls School (Girls). In addition to the hockey matches, career counselling section was also held for the students. The tournament was organized in accordance with International Hockey Federation rules and regulations. These included the drawing up of the match schedule and the composition of a Tournament Regulation, which was in essence an abridged version of the FIH’s Tournament Regulations. The appointment of a Tournament Director (TD), Judges and Technical officials (TO) was done by Citizens International Hockey Club and Umpires appointed by Technical Officials Association of Greater Accra Hockey Association (GAHA). The TD had the oversight responsibility for the entire tournament as is with the case with any international hockey events.
