Mike Theodor Platte (Thai: ไมค์ เทโอดอร์ พลัตเต้; born January 31, 2003), also known as Panitan Budkaew (Thai: ปณิธาน บุตรแก้ว), is a Thai-German actor. He is best known for his role in the television drama Duangjai Deva Phrom as Maj., M.D., M.L. Chatklao Juthathep on Channel 3.
Early Life and Education
[edit]Mike Platte was born on 31 January 2003 in Sweden to a German father and a Thai mother. He moved to Lampang, Thailand at the age of 3. Mike graduated primary school from Anuban Lampang Khelangrat Anusorn School. During grade 5, he participated in the "GLOBE Student Research Competition 2014 by The Institute for the Promotion of Teaching Science and Technology (IPST)-The GLOBE Program Thailand" in which he carried out Environmental Science research on a topic "Comparison of The Soil Moisture Levels Around Stone Dam, Earthen Dam and Undammed Areas at Wat Monphayachae, Lampang Thailand" and was awarded for an outstanding oral presentation.[1][2] Later, he was selected to present his research at the "GLOBE Learning Expedition (GLE) and Annual Partner Meeting" held in New Delhi, India, on 3 - 8 August 2014.[3] He, then, finished his secondary school from Lampang Kanlayanee School where he used to be a student vice-president.
When Mike was in high school, he formed a band called "Khao Kan Chin" (Thai: ข้าวกั๊นจิ๊น) with his friends and was scouted in 2021 at Kad Kongta street market in Lampang while busking.[4] In the same year, he was accepted to the Faculty of Education, Chiangmai University, before moving to Bangkok to start his career as an actor under the management of Charnchalard Dhaweesap and enrolled in the College of Communication Arts, Rangsit University, majoring in Digital Marketing Communication and Branding.[5][6]
Mike is trilingual; he speaks Swedish (first language), Thai, and English.[7]
Career
[edit]After signing a contract with Channel 3, Mike made his debut in the television series Duangjai Deva Phrom, the sequel of Suphapburut Juthathep. He co-starred as the main lead with Narilya Gulmongkolpech, playing the role of Maj., M.D., M.L. Chatklao Juthathep in the second drama of the series, Kwanreutai. The drama was directed by Yuthtana Lopanpaibul and aired in 2024.
