About Me

[edit]

I'm a student attending college to be a mechanical engineer. I enjoy working on cars and building hot rods in my free time. One of my other hobbies that I enjoy is listening to music so much so, Is that I'm glad Spotify added a time tracker. I listened to 275,588 minutes of music putting me in the top 99.9%.

My Wikipedia Interest

[edit]

I'm interested in using Wikipedia and similar tools for reference documents. Tools like this empower me to memorize key concepts rather than memorize the entire subject. After building a Wikipedia page as it becomes necessary I can search keywords for necessary information to reference documentation to solve current problems.

Article Evaluation

[edit]

I was driving down the road and heard one of LMFAO songs play on Spotify, It got me thinking I used to listen to them a lot but for some reason I've heard nothing new from them. No recent news on songs or even articles, podcast, Etc. I thought thats really odd for how popular they used to be, especially with their hit song "I'm Sexy And I Know It". I visited the article on Wikipedia and found three aspects of it worth commenting on. Is this article up to date/Recent news, Are the citations in this article reliable and does this article remain neutral while providing factual information.

Is this article up to date? As of writing this essay today the last time this article was updated on the 25 of February at 13:29. Google searching and digging through some other articles and websites, The only recent information I can find on the band LMFAO is their indefinite hiatus in 2012, Stating they no longer wanted to make music as it felt forced.

Are the citations in this article reliable? At the bottom of the article there is a table that shows all of LMFAO's Awards and nominations. The table sates that the band has been nominated for 2 Grammy awards a quick fact check on grammy.com shows they were in fact listed for 2 nominations neither one they actually won proving that this information is indeed true. In 2012 it shows they have won 6 total awards from Billboard Music Awards. 5 of the wards were for the song "Party Rock Anthem" the very last award is for best group/duo. The only difference in the article and Billboard Music Awards site is the slight difference in one award "Top Group/Duo" not "Best Group/Duo" Other than that the information is accurate and correct.

Does this article remain neutral and factual? Everything in this article seems to be neutral almost all of the paragraphs and sentences begin with some form of date whether its just a year or the exact date year, day and month. Nothing in this article has any opinion based information just events with a time and place. All of the paragraphs in this article have a link to another Wikipedia page, All of which work.

I thoroughly enjoyed reading information on this band I used to listen to while growing up. I'm glad to see some recent information on them as Ive heard nothing about them in along time. Its also nice to see some citations to other articles for information about each event through their entire career. Last but not least I like the fact that this article just provided information with dates to events summarizing what happened without adding personal opinions to it and for that I can say this article is up to date, reliable and remains neutral.
