Momo Wang(王卯卯) is a Chinese Cartoonist/ Animation Director.
Creator of worldly spread internet meme [TUZKI(兔斯基)] (Facebook, WeChat built-in sticker; Top 8 most popular GIF sticker in Japan,Top 2 most popular GIF sticker in Korea). Master’s degree in Experimental Animation from [CalArts]. Over a million fans from all channels. Featured in CCTV and CNN’s special reports, and published 8 graphic novels including The Best of You Is Yet to Come, the Momo Who series, and I, Tuzki, You? Then Joined [Illumination] as a creative director for 1 and half year to now.
Biography

[edit]Momo Wang was born in 3rd Dec, 1985 in China. She is most famous for creating the popular cartoon rabbit Tuzki, which is now the property of Time Warner and was the spokes-person for Motorola and various other companies.
Momo created Tuzki as an undergraduate at[CUC]. Tuzki first became popular on Momo's blog by being featured in a variety of emoticons. Upon graduating with her BFA in 2D Animation, Momo was specially trained in the graphic design and animation departments at Turner Broadcasting Company in Hong Kong.
After that, Momo focused on comic storytelling with a distinct personal style,and published seven books in Taiwan, Hong Kong, Mainland China and Thailand. She was also a spokesperson for Gap in China. She now studies experimental animation at the California Institute of the Arts, where pushes the boundaries of her art, connecting her new ideas and worldview with Chinese traditional culture.
Career
[edit]2004: Admitted to the School of Animation and Digital Arts of Communication University of China with the 2nd highest score in the country.
2007: Created the cartoon image Tuzki when in her Junior Year, which was welcomed and well-spread online. In the same year, Tuzki became spokesperson for Motorola Q8 in China and the first local Chinese cartoon image to have in depth cooperation with international brands.
2008: Time Warner purchased the cartoon image of Tuzki. In the same year, she graduated with her BFA in 2D Animation and migrated to Hong Kong through the Quality Migrant Admission Scheme to receive special training in the graphic design and animation departments and work as an illustrator and designer in Time Warner’s Turner Broadcasting (TBS). During that time, she fell in love with traveling and photography and traveled to over 10 countries and districts including the North Pole, Egypt, South Africa and India.
2009: Published her first picture book I, Tuzki, You? which remained No. 1 on the bestseller list for a whole year and sold over 500,000 copies in that year. Then published the series of Momo Who and The Best of You Is Yet to Come, which, together with I, Tuzki, You? were translated into three different languages and made into eight different editions in mainland China, Hong Kong, Tai Wan and Thailand, receiving wide acclaim and made it to, and since then have been on, their local bestseller lists. Over 45 book signings and speeches in colleges were carried out in the mainland, Hong Kong and Taiwan.
2010: Chief designer and ribbon-cutting guest of Tuzki Thematic Exhibitions at New Century Plaza in Mong Kok and Tsuen Wan Plaza. In the same year, she resigned from TBS and returned to Beijing to become a full-time cartoonist. Upon invitation by Gap, one of the biggest clothing companies in the U.S., she filmed the commercial video for Gap China together with artists including Zhou Xun and Liu Wen directed by the world’s top portrait photographer Annie Leibovitz.
2011: Began studying in the MFA Experimental Animation Program of CalArts, the world’s No. 1 institution for animation, becoming the first person in mainland China ever to get in that department. She obtained her Master’s degree in Experimental Animation in 2014.
July, 2013: Momo’s Dream Tour exhibition at 96 Square. Published The Best of You Is Yet to Come.
Aug. 2013: Featured in the online commercial video of Chevrolet China upon invitation by General Motors.
Sept. 2013: Designed the cover of ELLE limited edition, which was issued nationwide, as the fashion magazine’s specially invited artist.
Feb. 2014: Tuzki Valentine’s Day short film under the name of Momo Wang was loop played at New York Times Square from 14th – 19th.
Mar. 2014: Invited by American manufacturer of skateboarding shoes and related apparel Vans to design and sign two types of limited T-shirts for the company’s launch in China.
Aug. 2014: A whole set of Tuzki emoticons produced by Momo Wang became the default stickers of Facebook. There are over 20 million sends of Tuzki stickers worldwide every day.
Tuzki stickers were among the Top 10 mostly used emoticons in Japan, Top 3 on Korean messaging app KaKaoTalk.
Sept. 2014: Featured in full-length documentary The Internet Age as one of the interviewees. The documentary took three years’ time to produce and was shown on channels of CCTV 1 and 2. Her original emoticons were presented as display stickers for iWatch on Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC).
Sept. 2017: Became the brand ambassador for Visit Pasadena.
Nov. 2018: Elected as the brand ambassador of US section for Tmall, and recorded the LA chapter for Tmall International Takes Over the World video.
Feb. 2018: Created the brand image for world famous high-end shopping mall Beverly Center.
Feb. 2018: Joined Illumination Entertainment as Creative Director and Animation Director for short film.

Personal life
[edit]Momo Wang currently lives and works in Los Angeles. She is also a fisherman and sushi chef as hobby.
