What is a cross-namespace redirect?

[edit]

A cross-namespace redirect is a redirect that lies in one namespace and points to a page in a different namespace. This page is specifically concerned with cross-namespace redirects that exist in the article namespace, excluding those that begin with WP:. An example of a cross-namespace redirect is Wikipedia is not paper, which points to Wikipedia:Wikipedia is not paper.
