Derek Kale (Born October 4th, 1985) is a race car driver in the USARacing Pro Cup Series. He Currently resides in Ashland, Kentucky.

1996-2005[edit]

Began racing at 11 years old, Kale got behind the wheel of his first go-kart and over the next 6 years won over 37, 2 championships, and a 5th place finish in points in the World Karting Association.

His success in go-karts set him up to run Late Models at Motor Mile Speedway. The first year he ran in the limited sportsman division, picking up 3 wins, 4 seconds, and 3 thirds. The next year he moved on to late model stocks in the NASCAR Dodge Weekly Racing Series, where he had one pole, 2 wins and 8 top 5 finishes.

His most notable late model stock accomplishment was in the 2005 Bailey's 300 at Martinsville Speedway, where 85 cars showed up to qualify for a 40 car field, and Kale who had never seen the track before, qualified 12th and went on to post an 8th place finish.

2006[edit]

In 2006 Kale completed his first season in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series - earning 2 poles, 9 top 10 starts, 4 top 10s, Miller Lite Northern Division Rookie of the Year, and Miller Lite Overall Rookie of the Year Champion.

2007[edit]

In 2007 Kale continued in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup Series - earning 3 top 10s and 1 top 5.

2008[edit]

In 2008 Kale and his Heritage Motorsports team brought on Steve Bird full time to challenge for the USAR Hooters Pro Cup championship. Kale would notch his first USAR Hooters Pro Cup win at Mansfield Motorsports Park on June 14th, 2008. He would finish 4th in the Northern Series and 9 in the Championship series with 1 win, 3 top 5s, and 6 top 10s.

2009[edit]

Once again in 2009 Kale will challenge for the championship of the newly renamed USARacing Pro Cup Series.
