Sri N.V.Raghava Chary was born in 1913 in Thiruvallur near Madras. He practiced as an Advocate for 50 years and was honoured posthumously by the Honorable justice, Madras High Court, on 15th December 1994. He had spent more than two -thirds of his life o Astrological research. From his younger days, it was his endeavor to learn astrology and perfect it to the extent possible. He was working on the importance of the constellations and some basic concepts of the Stellar Astrology. It is a known fact that the Book on Naadi Jyothisha, published in early forties with the pen name MEENA was a joint work of Sri R. Gopala Krishna Row(Meena1) and Sri N.V. Raghava Chary(Meena2).

Sri N.V.Raghava Chary was a great savant in Astrology. He was an erudite scholar with more than fifty years experience.

Personal Life

Param Guruji was a Man of principles. He valued principles in people rather than their personalities. He was a man of independent decision. Due to the vast difference in age between him and his younger siblings, Sri N V R was the leader of his family. He was always considerate and affectionate towards his siblings. He resigned his job at the Railways in 1948 due to a disagreement with his superior who refused to accept his ideas during the war. He, then decided to take up an independent profession and hence pursued a degree in law. He graduated in law from Belgaum Law College. He practiced law till his last years of his life. He was a legal advisor to a co-operative bank in Tiruvallur( Trivellore).

He never went after money. He never took up lawsuits unless he was convinced they were genuine. He was a successful lawyer by his own standards but never materially. He thoroughly abided by his principles. This can be best seen, He earlier took up both civil and criminal cases. But there was an instance when he felt justice was not done in one of the criminal cases he had taken up. He vowed never to enter a criminal court from then on. He earned more from criminal cases when compared to civil cases.

Guruji and Astrology

From his younger days it was his endeavour to learn astrology and perfect it to the best possible extent. He met Sri R Gopalakrishna Row(Meena1) during his service at the Railways. Due to the common interest in the field of astrology, they frequently met and a series of discussions has ensued on various systems of astrology.

Guruji's interest in astrology had begun when he was 21 years old. While he was in Tumkur, he used to sneak away from the house late in the night without hte knowledge of his parents with a candle to meet his friend Sri R G outside the compound of hte house and start discussing astrology. This shows the extend of interest and devotion he had towards the field. While both Sri NVR(Meena2) and Sri RG(Meena1) were at Bangalore, they used to vist the residence of Gri Gurumurthy where noted scholars and Sri Budha Nadi Srinivasa Char gathered occasionally and discussed astrology. Sri Budha Nadi Srinivasa Char, who was an authority on Budha Nadi, was a hard nut to crack and never gave out principles or the art of interpretation of the charts openly and clearly. But persistent visits from Sri NVR and Sri RG moved him and he finally divulged a few secrets of Budha Nadi to them. When he was 28, Guruji NVR and Sri RG wanted to divulge the secrets of Nadi Jyothisha to the public. Since both of them were in service, the book could not be brought out on theri names and hence the penname authorship Meena was given.

He is popularly known as MEENA2 in astrology world

MEENA2

Guruji Meena2

It is very intersting to note the relevance of the name, MEENA. Sri RG was born in Vrichika Lagna with his Chandra in Uthirabadrapada and his Chandra (the Lord of 9) was placed in Meena Rasi. Sri NVR was born in Mesha Lagna with his Chandra in Pushyami and his Ravi (Lord of 5) in Meena Rasi. Meena is symbolised by a pair of fish. Further Sun and Moon were luminaries and they were in Trine. Kuja is the Lord of Mesha and Vrichika. Hence the name Meena was chosen. Sri RG is MEENA1 and Guruji is MEENA2. Guruji is the founder of MEENA2 Nadi system.

Sri NVR was a Yug Rishi who revived and rejuvenated the great traditions founded by Varahamihira and other preachers or Pravarthakas of astrology. The concepts traditionally told by them were modified by Guru Sri NVR by applying stellar principles coupled or blended with Nadi sutras. His inventions in applicability of Sutras or principles fro day-to-day use are very well appreciated by followers of Stellar Astrology in particular.

Guruji NVR was a great Tapaswi. He could decode Nadi secrets with his tapo-shakti and thus bring out the same for hte welfare of humanity. He was a great philosopher and guided people with soothing words. He never spoke anything negative about any horoscope while telling the results or phalithas. Instead he used to decode the chart and bless the native for prosperity because he staunchly believed that an astrologer cannot give the final verdict of negative in nature, the result has to be left to God.

Sri NVR was a spritual scientist who propagated hte movement to integrate science and spirituality. This can be clearly understood by the way in which he has explained the concept of how Rahu and Ketu deliver results. He was a great thinker. His approach and thought process never ended. Just before Guruji left for his heavenly abode, he wrote a remarkable article highlighting the principles of "Pertinent thoughts on Dasa and Bhukthi". At the age of 81, only his strong will and powerful memory made him to write the master-piece in his own handwriting despite his physical constraints. This proves that there is no age or end to research.

Practical Stellar Astrology

It is a known fact that the Book on Nadi Jyothisha published in early forties with the pen name Meena was a joint work of Sri R Gopala Krishna Row and Sri N V Raghavachary. Guruji NVR modified these concepts discussed by them and formulated several new sutras in 1983. These sutras were brought out to the public by his fifth son, Dr N V Ra Raja, in 1995, through the book "Practical Stellar Astrology". Such is the magnitude of Guruji's work that every page can create a great scholar in stellar astrology! The wonderful principles highlighted by him are found to be extremely useful to practicing astrologers in giving day-to-day predictions.

Guruji's sole mission was to do constant research on stellar astrology. His division of a day into nakshatras is one of the most remarkable revelations in stellar astrology. He was the only person in the world to divide the gunas of a planet into three divisions. He used to say, "Thriguna phalakam nirmitha sthana bhedham" which means " the three gunas which have eemanated from the Prakruthi vary as per their positions". The unique and best part about his suggestions was simple and inexpensive remedies.
