civil rights activist, chiefly an advocate for workers rights causes centered in Knoxville, Tennessee; co-founder of the now defunct non-profit 501(c)(3)organization Sincere Seven (fr. 1999-2004)along with Terry Taylor and Theresa Reed, where he served as Executive Director.

His work includes both unionized and non-unionized workers in campaigns versus several large corporations, including Kel-San Industries, government security agency, Wackenhut, Fulton Bellows, Lockheed-Martin and the University of Tennessee.

Credited with creating two cable-access television shows, "Knoxville's Workplace Talk" and "S7Live!" to further promote the mission of Sincere Seven. Redd also developed the concept in radio format as "S7 Radio". Redd served as host and moderatorof "State of the District" for the late Knoxville City Councilman, Danny Mayfield and as host and moderator of "Cop Watch" for the police watchdog group, Citizens for Police Review.

Perry Redd also created , edited and published Sincere Seven's monthly newsletter, the S7 Infoletter and the on-line commentary The Other Side of the Tracks for that organization.

An inspiring orator, Redd has evoked the cause of social change at anti-war and disarmament protests, anti-police brutality rallies, living wage campaigns, election campaigns, civil rights forums, death penalty vigils and has addressed community concerns at city councilmeetings in Knoxville, Tennessee.

An extensive videographer and media producer, he also as singer and songwriter produced four socially conscious full-length CD's: The Activist (2000), Runaway Slave(2002), Unauthorized Authorized (2003) and Nu Style Activist (2004); along with his first music video, One Voice (2004).

Creator of two Adult Continuing Education curriculi, The American Political Machine--In Color, and Forming A Non-Profit.

Redd's historical walk includes serving prison time in Brushy Mountain State Penitentiary in Petros, Tennessee (1996-98) and in Federal prison (2004-09) where he served as his own case law researcher and attorney to win exoneration in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals after a wrongful conviction.

He is now a spirited advocate for incarcerated persons and poor people concerns headquartered in Washington, DC. Other work and honors:
