About Me

[edit]

I am a professional librarian living and working in Inverness, Scotland. A member of the High Life Highland Libraries team, I received my ALA-accredited training in librarianship from the University of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. I am also a Chartered Member (MCLIP) of the Chartered Institute of Library and Information Professionals.

I am passionate about inspiring young people to develop a life long interest in reading and writing. I am concerned at recent reports[1][2] of declining literacy standards amongst secondary pupils in the UK and am working with pupils daily to attempt to reverse this trend in my local community.
