The primary purpose of a Wikipedia lead/lede is not to summarize the topic, but to summarize the content of the article. It should prepare the reader for whatever is in the body of the article, get them interested in the content, and inspire them to read the whole article.# The lead should be one to four paragraphs in length, and should answer most or all of the 5 Ws. Good articles start with a brief lead section (WP:CREATELEAD) introducing the topic. The lead section should come above the first header; it is almost never useful to add something like ==Introduction==.
