Solomon Etefa Lemu is an Ethiopian Lieutenant General who is the current Chief commander of the South command of ENDF. Lieutenant General Lemu is High Military official of Ethiopia. He has been involved in various military operations and strategic planning.
He has gained recognition for his leadership during critical times. His role has included addressing issues related to Ethiopia's National Security, Military readiness and Operational effectiveness. His leadership and military expertise have been essential in shaping the Ethiopian government's response to internal conflicts and maintaining National security.[1]
Military Career
[edit]Lieutenant General Solomon Lemu joined Ethiopian National Defense force on 4 July 1991.Lieutenant General Lemu served as Deputy Brigade Commander during the Ethiopian Eritrean war. He involved on UN peace keeping mission in Sudan as Sector Commander in 2015. He served as Commander of Combined Arms Academy. He also served as Deputy commander of south command. He was a military teacher at Ethiopian Defense force General and Staff College. He involved on UN peace keeping mission in Sudan in 2015.
War
[edit]Lieutenant General Solomon Lemu involved in a various war. He participated in Ethiopian Eritrean War. He is also participating on Oromo Conflict. Lieutenant General Solomon Etefa involved in Tigray war as South command Commander. He plays a significant role during Tigray war from the starting day of the war. He is Promoted to the Rank Lieutenant General on 8 January 2022 by Abiy Ahmed Ali and Sahlework Zewde for his great successful leadership on the Tigray war. He is awarded the Highest Adwa Victory heroes medal given by the President of Ethiopia in January 2022 for his Operation Plans and Tactics in the Tigray war. He is also named as Combat Engineer for his Operational and Strategical Success.
Alma mater
[edit]Lieutenant General Solomon Lemu admitted to United States Army Command and General Staff College at Leavenworth, Kansas, United States for one year in 2007 on Military Operation Course. He also attended at Ethiopian General and Staff College. He has received his master's degree in peace and Security from Cranfield University with collaboration of Ethiopian National Defense force in Addis Ababa. He holds a master's on Leadership from Lead Star College in partnership with Ashland University in Addis Ababa.
