Who am I?

[edit]
  • Pierre François, born in Hasselt (Belgium) on May 11th, 1957.
  • Engineer in Computer Sciences since July, 1975.
  • Ordained as a priest for the Roman Catholic Church on June 12th, 1983, I performed a Ph.D. that I published in 1987.
  • I started to work in the world of Open Source for programming computers around 1992, and soon after, I also discovered the benefits of the GNU General Public License applied to encyclopedias and Wikipedia in particular. I heavily use this kind of license in all kind of work I perform, also on the area of christian art.
  • After years of correcting anonymously typos and all kinds of inaccuracy I found in French, Dutch, English ad Spanish, I discovered I needed a users page. That is the reason why I write these lines.

What do I dream for Wikipedia?

[edit]
  • I understand Wikipedia has to be protected against abuses, but I experiment it is each time harder to get something published (except obvious typos), even in the areas where I think I am a recognised specialist, as it is the case in liturgy. You currently have to know so much rules, that Wikipedia is little by little reserved to a certain high skilled elite.
  • For being sincere: I experiment this evolution as a little bit frustrating.
